France urges Israel not to attack Iran Sun Oct 5, 10:49 AM ET

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner has urged Israel not to launch a military strike against Iran's nuclear program, an Israeli newspaper reported on Sunday

Kouchner, in the region for talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, urged the Jewish state to continue to support Western-backed sanctions and dialogue to press Iran to halt its atomic project, the Haaretz daily said.

"I know that in Israel, and the Israeli army, there are those who are preparing for a military solution or an attack" aimed at halting the Iranian program, Kouchner told the paper in an interview.

"In my opinion that's not the solution," he said, adding that the possibility of Iran achieving a nuclear weapon was also "absolutely unacceptable."

Kouchner called the risk of an Israeli strike on Iran a "danger." He said Tehran was aware Israel had said it would not wait until Iran could produce a nuclear bomb.

He said the West should pursue "talk, talk and more talk," including further sanctions to persuade Iran to stop its nuclear program. Tehran denies seeking to build an atomic bomb, saying it only wants to generate electricity.

"I don't think the alternative is to bomb first," Kouchner said.

Kouchner said France believed Iran may be able to produce one atomic weapon within two to four years.

Tehran last month rejected a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding it halt its nuclear enrichment work.

Israel, widely believed to be the Middle East's only nuclear power, sees Iran's nuclear program as a security threat, citing remarks by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calling for the Jewish state's demise.

I don't think we can blame Israel for wanting to prevent Iran from getting nucluer power as they have said they want to obliterate Israel.  I believe Iran is our biggest threat today for a world war.  But maybe it's best to try to talk to Iran and let them know that if they attack we will be right beside Israel in protecting their land.  I don't know what the answer is really, but God knows.  He wrote about it in His Book.  Love and prayers.  Dee

That is some thing.
Years and years ago, people would fight with Guns, now all this with nucler and what it can do.
Boy the world is really heading for diaster.
I sure wish there be world peace, instead of all this Nucler talk going on and the war.
But Jesus tells us there will be rumors of war.
I Bet That is what Jesus was really talking about!
Do much power in the world going on,and one of it is usa, russia, iran.
I mean what and when will all this take place when every one starts hitting us all at once  Shocked Sad hey Markers?

Amen you guys! Only the Lord knows what He's up too. He tells to watch and be on alert, but the final battle is His. Israel will be the place God will bring His Kingdom. Much strife and many lives will be lost before Jesus comes down and claims His 'Beloved city Jerusalem'. Revelation 8:3..This is what the Lord says: "I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain."

Iran is a major threat to Israel but we can be sure of her safety. Even though God has told us of His New Heaven and New Earth that will come when He reconstructs the earth, in the meantime He also tells us that Israel will be protected. Talking about the upcoming War Of Armageddon, God says this in Zechariah 12:1-3...

This is the Word of the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares: I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples relling.  Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem and immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.  On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness." declares the Lord. "I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah, but I will blind tall the horses of the nations.  Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts, 'The people of Jerusalem are strong because the Lord Almighty is their God.'

Wow!! The Lord has spoken Amen...lol smitten

Great topic Markers,
love ya,

The Lord Himself is the source of hope because His character is unchanging, His love is steadfast, His promises will all come true, and His omnipotence determines our future! How wonderfully beautiful is this promise!!
