prayer can move mountains, why not Obama?

    Being dismayed recently when a family member of mine said to me with great resignation that Obama will take the presidency. These words came from someone who in the past has been a great prayer warrior.
   
    What is happening was my question???  Why are we Christians settling and not issuing a battle cry and falling to our knees and taking our country back?
   
    We allow ourselves to be stripped of the right to pray at school functions and in school, we have the 10 commandments removed from government places and are told we cannot pray in school, all the while providing public prayer places for Muslims.  What in the world is going on and why are we being apathetic?
   
    Why aren't we praying? Our God is a mighty God who is waiting patiently for us to raise our voices to heaven to stop the tide of the anti-Christ actions in our world today.  Now we find we have a charismatic candidate for president who does not respect our flag and refuses to wear one on his lapel except when it becomes politically expedient and whose own wife and pastor whom he loves profess to have strong anti-white feelings, and we sit back and say 'it is a given, we can do nothing.'
   
    There has never been a time in 2000 years that we can do nothing, never a time that we must sit back and allow the evil in men's and women's hearts to take over our world.  We should be very afraid because our apathy is leading us to perdition.   
   
    It is time for all Christian Americans to raise the battle cry and take our nation back.  Maybe McCain on his own cannot defeat Obama, but our God can and He will if we take to our knees in prayer and raise a mighty cry to the heavens to 'Save us O Lord.'  We have the power to change the course of this election and to keep a man as suspect as Barak Obama from leading our country to who knows where with his message of 'change' - a change which I fear will be away from our Christian ideals and away from Christ and further away from one nation under God.
   
    We are great at passing stories and pictures around the internet, but where are our prayers and prayer warriors praying to stop this tide of Barak Obama?  God parted the Red Sea, Jesus raised Himself from the dead, and we can bring our country back to its Christian roots and stop the move to the rise of Muslims in our country.  We can stop our country from being 'under Allah,' but we must begin to pray, to pray as if our country and our lives depended on it, because they do.  We can stop all these atrocities against God's commands that have taken root in our country through something as simple as sincere prayer, a call to God to deliver us, to forgive us our sins of apathy and to protect us from the evil that is upon us.
   
    Okay prayer warriors, here is your challenge, start those prayer chains.  Get the spiritual power working on our behalf and stop Barak Obama the proper way, by calling on our God to save us from the deception that charismatic preaching is using to lead us on the wrong path.  Stop  those who would take God out of our country and our government.  Raise up good men to lead us and protect us.
   
    George Bush is being buffeted because he has fought a holy war against the evils that attack us and we should not be surprised because a prophet is not honored in his own country.  But we should not rest on our laurels and allow ourselves to be taken further off the path of Christianity and to have God removed from our presence in our schools, courts, government and businesses.  Invite God into the fray.  Ask that His power rest upon us and give us the victory.  Ask him to raise up a mighty army to defend us and to protect our country as he did in days of old.  Let us be victorious beginning NOW.  The battle is His but we must call on Him without ceasing and unite our voices and hearts in prayer and fasting.
   
    Please pass this around to all people of prayer that you know and maybe, just maybe a more eloquent person of prayer will write something better and more inspiring and even the rocks will shout that Jesus is Lord and our Mighty God is with us, bringing the victory for us and ultimately for Him.   'Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus.'
   
    I Thess 5:16-18
   
    ...Continuous Prayer is the answer to this attack on the  USA ....
    Please pray the Will of God will prevail
    through our continuous prayers to HIM...

I have in been in prayer about this for the last year! We have so many folks running here in Colorado that haven't a clue about what they are saying. The enemy has blinded so many of them! It isn't just the Presidential election that is at stake, it's every state in the union that are turning their backs on God, freedoms and our God-given self-respect. I know the Lord has heard our prayers over our next president, but He also let's us make mistakes. I pray He will show mercy on us and bring this country out of the destruction that bad leadership can bring.

Not meaning to tie things in too close with prophecy, but.... the United States is nowhere to be found in the end times. I voted, and strongly encouraged others to vote morals (read: LIFE), but no matter what happens today, we as the church are still bound to pray for the President, ESPECIALLY if it is Obama. If the Lord is using him to bring about the end of America, then glory to God. If He is using him to show how much difference can be made in one person's life, especially a man of power, then glory to God. If God uses this election to bring people back to the church, because the country is unsalvagable, the glory to God. We think we know what would happen under the presidency of either man, but God knows what He intends to bring about through this election, and He WILL be glorified. When Abraham Lincoln became president, he was not what we would call a Christian. It was only during office that he put his trust in the Lord. He started seeking God's plan among the trial of fire this nation was going through.The Union suddenly went from the verge of defeat to a clear, overwhelming victory. He made sure we were on the Lord's side, and not the other way around. Obama clearly does not fit the definition of a biblical Christian, despite his claims otherwise. This nation may be on the edge of a trial by fire that exceeds that seen in the Civil War. Wouldn't it be great to see Obama undergo the transformation Lincoln went through and lead a resurrection of this great union? This election, whether on the surface appears to bring about an unbiblical result, trust that it is STILL a part of God's plan. All glory to God and my prayers for the next Commander-in-Chief, no matter what he believes his agenda is.

Alot of people might think I'm crazy but along with Obama I think Nicholas Sarkozy (the president of France) is someone we need to keep our eye on. Him and Angela Merkyll of Germany are the 2 names you hear in association with the EU although there are many other nations a part of it. Sarkozy's name has popped up in almost everything I've read recently and I get an uneasy feeling every time. I believe God is trying to open my eyes to something but I don't know what yet.

Well, us pre-tribbers hope that when "it" all happens,with whomever it may be, we won't be around to see it. Guess God still is in control. Just remember, He only gave us the Cliff notes, not the whole script. There's some really good news not talked about... Look at all the marriage protection amendments that passed!

I do worry and I'll tell you why....I don't know a Christian ANYWHERE that doesn't have at least 1 person they love who is not saved. If we talk about what the Bible says about the end of this Age and those people who are not saved see it happening it might make them pick up their Bible. My Bible tells me to love others more than myself so its very hard for me to be happy i'm not going to be here when someone I love might be.

That has been a concern of mine too and I love that you said, "If we talk about what the Bible says about the end of this Age and those people who are not saved see it happening it might make them pick up their Bible."  We can pray that they pick up the Bible sooner than that, we can try to led them to the Lord and we can keep praying for them, but that is all we can do for them.  We need to turn our concerns totally over to the Lord, or we can easily drive ourselves crazy over them.  I pray for the "lost souls" quite often and turn them over to the Lord again and again.  This is probably not the way to do it either (like do it once and let God handle it), but it is the way I keep my sanity over it.  God bless you and yours!

Amen Deb!  Kim, I know exactly what you mean. I have several family members and friends that aren't saved either. Should their rebellion keep us from enjoying the the promise of eternal life?  God doesn't want that. It is our duty and our commission to help them on their way to freedom in Christ Jesus but it isn't our duty to deprive ourselves of the joy that comes from salvation. Loving God and devoting our lives to Him gives us not only security, but also a burden for the lost. If we aren't careful we can start denying that joy because of the unsaved and the future they hold. Keep in mind that our loved ones who are resisting and denying Jesus have done so out of choice. You bet it's sad, and it can bring us to a place of despair, but our promise of eternal life with God and the Glories of Heaven far surpass the sadness.

OH THIS IS GOOD,  I MYSELF I DO VOTE BUT I KNOW THAT NO MATTER WHAT THE CANDIDATES SAY OR DO, ITS UP TO THE LORD TO DEAL WITH THEM.  I CAN NOT JUST SIT AND JUDGE WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG.  AS I USUALLY SAY TO MANY PEOPLE AROUND ME WHO ARE NOT SAVED OR EVEN SAVED, THAT I HAVE PROBLEMS HANDLING MY OWN LIFE MUCH LESS WORRING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSES.  BUT UNFORTUANATELY WE NEED TO BE AMERICAN CITIZENS AND VOTE.  NO MATTER WHAT LEADER LEADS THIS COUNTRY, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IS GOING TO HAPPEN.  WE NEED TO  KEEP OUR LIVES WITH THE LORD AND KEEP LOOKING TO HIM.  KNOW THE WORD OF GOD SO WELL THAT ITS ENGRAVED INTO OUR HEARTS THAT WE MAY NOT BE FOOLED BY THE WAYS OF EVIL IN THIS WORLD.  FOR THE LORD IS COMING AGAIN AND WE MUST KNOW HIM WELL ENOUGH TO KNOW WHO HE IS.  IF THE DEVIL USES OUR LEADERS OF THIS COUNTRY, THEN WE MUST KNOW THAT THE DEVIL WILL NOT LOOK EVIL AND UGLY LOOKING.  ALL I KNOW IS THAT I WILL NEVER DENOUCE THE LORD MY GOD AND I WILL DIE BELIEVING IN HIM.  ALTHOUGH I CAN SAY THAT IT STILL A STRUGGLE TO ACT IT.  FOR MANY TIMES OUR ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN OUR WORDS.  FOR WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS WILL COME OUT OF OUR MOUTHS.  SO I TOO HAVE MANY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT IN THE LORD OR WANT TO BE CLOSE TO THE LORD OR BELIEVE ALL THAT WILL HAPPEN,  SO I MUST TRY TO LIVE MY LIFE THE BEST I CAN TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERS AND LET OTHERS DO WHAT THEY MUST DO , BUT MY PLACE IS IN THE LORD AND HIS WORDS. 

BUT IT IS SAD TO SEE SO MUCH GOING ON WITH OUR LEADERS OF OUR NATION AND IN OUR SCHOOLS AND GOVERNMENT.  FOR HAVING THE 10 COMMANDMENTS TAKEN OFF OF PUBLIC LOTS IS SAD AND WRONG, AND HAVING PRAYER IN SCHOOLS OR IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES. BUT YOU KNOW THAT IT WILL BE JUDGED ON JUDGEMENT DAY IF THE LORD SEES FIT.  WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT IT BE ENGRAVED IN OUR HEARTS, MIND AND SOUL.  THAT THERE IS NOTHING CAN DESTROY THAT NOR STEAL IT FROM US. 

SO I JUST CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THIS WORLD AND GIVE IT ALL TO GOD.  FOR THE LORD HAS HIS HANDS ON THE SITUATION.  FOR WHEN THE TIME COMES AND IN THE LORD'S PERFECT TIMING IS  WHEN IT WILL ALL TAKE PLACE AND WE'LL BE HOME WHERE WE WON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS.  AND THEN WE WILL KNOW WHAT TRUE PARADISE AND FREEDOM IS ALL ABOUT.
