Are you having a hard time spending time with the Lord? Do you sometimes find it difficult to motivate yourself to spend time with the Lord? When we think about that, it really doesn't make sense. God has all the power and all the wisdom that we could ever need. Why do we go and ask other people what to do about a situation when we should be asking the one who knows everything. I think some of it is because when we talk to another person, they are right in front of us. We can see them, hear them, and touch them.
It doesn't take any faith to talk to another person, but it takes "great" faith to talk with God about the situations going on in our lives, and faith takes effort. It takes great faith because we don't see Him like we see another person sitting in front of us. We don't hear him like you hear a person talking right in front of you. We hear him but it is in our spirit and that takes fine tuning which takes time and effort, and sometimes we are just plain lazy.
I will admit it. I have been lazy at times in my relationship with God and if you really think about it, that is crazy. Can I make a tree, or a planet, or a universe? No! I'm happy when I can make a shelf go on the wall and stay there. How little is that compared to what our Lord can do? When you really look at it, it is crazy to think that we wouldn't go to the one with all the power, wisdom, knowledge, and love that we could ever need! So, why don't we go to Him? It takes effort. We need to get out of our mindset that everything should just be given to us and really go after that relationship with all the effort we have. Would you marry someone if he or she made no effort to show you that they loved you?
Salvation is a free gift but relationship isn't. He wants us to pursue him with everything we have. That is how He knows we want a relationship with Him and once He knows we really want a relationship with Him, He will start showing us what we need to be doing to change our lives for His glory. love, Georgie

Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil- it has no point.
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Preach it sistah!! Does God want us to seek counsel through friends and family...youbetcha! But when we have the Mighty Counselor only a whisper away, to give us the wisest and most perfect answers..why do we forget that? I've done it hundreds of times. God is our best friend. He is the one we should go to first and without hesitation. We can't hear Him audibly and we can't see Him visually, but He is more near to our hearts than anyone we have known or ever will know.
