Purposes-”Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
This site is beyond all denominations, and any who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord God and Savior are welcome. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, you are even more welcome, as we welcome those who wish to understand who Jesus truly is.
Bible- The Bible is the first source and final authority on all matters. We believe the Bible to be infallible, complete, inspired by the living God, useful for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. We acknowledge that there may be differing opinions on fine points of doctrine, and with that we welcome loving, gentle, and respectful debate on these issues, as this helps iron sharpen iron if done in this manner. However, any posts or comments that go clearly against scripture will be deleted. For example: some believe that the rapture, as described in 1 Thessalonians 4 will occur before the tribulation, while others argue that it will happen during or even after. We are welcome to debate this; but if anyone claims the events as read will not occur, then it is against scripture.
Fellowship- One of the primary purposes of this site is fellowship. Here we have a chance to reach out to other believers throughout the world who share a common Savior. This is a site dedicated to sharing joy, and personal attacks are not welcome. Although we know we all have different customs and styles of worship, we are all committed to loving each other in Christ’s love. We demonstrate Christ’s love by showing grace and compassion to each other.
Prayer- As Christians, our primary function is prayer, and everything we do should be surrounded in prayer. If you are not in the habit of prayer, then you are encouraged to attend one of the prayer meetings. Prayer is simply communicating with God. There are no special words, no special forms; just a conversation between you and your heavenly Father. We recommend keeping it simple and sincere. People who haven’t prayed before will not be looked down in meetings, after all, God has shown a tendency not to listen to those who pray for show. As you grow, we encourage you to pray both individually and corporately, so you can grow in the way God would have you.
Discipleship- One of the most important areas of growing is in the area of discipleship. With this we are committed to providing both devotions and Bible studies. We encourage members to take part and also encourage more mature, experienced Christians to consider leading a Bible study or Christian book study. We also offer a forum where you can ask questions. No question will be treated as silly or inane. Even the most mature Christians were babes in Christ at one point.
Evangelism- Wherever we are, we are to be witnesses for Christ. We are called to live our lives as a shining example for others. We are unique as we have the opportunity to be witnesses for Christ to the secular online community. We don’t need to be professional evangelists; all we are called to do is to tell others what Christ has done for us. We are called to be proactive in sharing. If you want help preparing your testimony so you feel more comfortable sharing what Christ has done, we have helps available. Also, feel free to share with another member of this community if you wish to find someone to practice on. Christians find the same joy as the angels when we hear the glories of God being lived out through us.
Ministry- This is an active ministering body. We are all called to help each other as we are led. This includes all ways as we are capable of. We are a living body of believers. Who among us would let a part of our body decay and suffer without treating it? Therefore, we are called to lift up each other in prayer, plus in any way that the Lord leads and provides. Also, we are to reach out to others in the online community to pray for them, and to invite them to become a part of the community.
Church- We are a Christian community. We know that some people treat this site as a church. While we welcome all, we know that there is no substitute for being physically present among the people of God. If you have the ability to go to church, we believe you should be an active member of a Bible believing congregation. If you are unable to go, or lack a Bible believing body in your area, then you may consider this site your church home. If this is your church home, once again, we encourage you to be an active part of this body, being faithful in prayer and study.
Giving- The tithe is the Lord’s. We believe all who call on Christ should bring the first fruits to where you worship. If you feel led to give an offering beyond the tithe, then you are welcomed to. We do have costs, and any offering would be used to see to the needs of this site. All the leadership are volunteers, and serve this community out of sacrificial love. We just ask that you give first to your home church where you worship to make sure that the church can minister to your physical community.
Leadership- The leadership of this site have taken a pledge to follow certain guidelines, and will do their best to live by the site’s vision and purpose. (This includes church membership, unless they are homebound as listed above)
