Hello everyone,

Za-Man here and I wanted to talk to you about my poems and how I got the inspiration to write them.

The poem I will be talking about today is "Perfect Date".
The reason I wrote this poem is because one day my brother and I were standing in a line and this girl a few feet behind us was talking to her dad and she was crying. My brother explained to me that when he walked by to catch up to me, He heard her talking about her boyfriend and how he left her. I was kinda of shocked by what he told me. Then I began to think teenage guys today do not really care about feelings and how girls react to certain things. So that night I keep thinking about what my brother had told me. I prayed to God that night and asked Him to help me write a poem that speaks out to teens and the "love" they go through. The next morning I sat there and I wrote "Perfect Date" and I thanked God for His help.

Here is the poem

Perfect Date

It started with a smile and a simple hi
Then you thought to yourself this could be the guy
The sun was bright, the grass was green, and the sky was blue
Then you heard him say I like you

A week goes by and you think that everything is still the same
The sky was still blue and you didn’t want that to change
You got a call and your sky wasn’t so blue
Your heart stopped when you heard him say he was over you

It wasn’t your time, the time wasn’t right
To pledge yourself to someone tonight
But God is here for you and for Him you never have to wait
Just believe in time God will give you your perfect date

God has someone special for you so don’t turn away
Just like snow white your prince will come someday
So don’t be searching for the one for you
Because in time God will lead him straight to you

God knows the pain you feel inside and it won't last forever
If you put you faith in God He will make it all better
So don’t worry about love because your only a teen
In time as you grow older God will show you what love means

Soon it will be your time and the time will be right
Thanks to God you never loss sight
And because you listened to Him and you stop to wait
He will give you your perfect date

The Lord Himself is the source of hope because His character is unchanging, His love is steadfast, His promises will all come true, and His omnipotence determines our future! How wonderfully beautiful is this promise!!
