I am looking into the book of Psalms.  I was told that somewhere in the Psalms it tells us many different ways to praise God.  Does anyone out there know what I am looking for exactly?

Psalms mentions quite a few ways to praise God. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but you will find it in Psalms. One great example is

 Psalms 150:

1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary;
    praise Him in His mighty heavens.
2 Praise Him for His acts of power;
    praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
3 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,
    praise Him with the harp & lyre.
4 praise Him with tambourine and dancing,
    praise Him with the strings and flute,
5 praise Him with the clas hof cymbals,
    praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath
    praise the LORD

   Praise the LORD.  (NIV)

 In HIS Love,

Hi Christie!   smitten

Tom is right...there are many many scriptures about praising God in Psalms.  I would suggest going to Bible Gateway and using their keyword feature and type in Praise and then chose the book of Psalm.  That will give you about 6 pages of results!

And in the meantime...

Psalm 30

 1 I will exalt you, LORD,
   for you lifted me out of the depths
   and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
2 LORD my God, I called to you for help,
   and you healed me.
3 You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
   you spared me from going down to the pit.

 4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people;
   praise his holy name.
5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
   but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
   but rejoicing comes in the morning.

 6 When I felt secure, I said,
   “I will never be shaken.”
7 LORD, when you favored me,
   you made my royal mountain[c] stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
   I was dismayed.

 8 To you, LORD, I called;
   to the Lord I cried for mercy:
9 “What is gained if I am silenced,
   if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
   Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10 Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me;
   LORD, be my help.”

 11 You turned my wailing into dancing;
   you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
   LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil- it has no point.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Psa 150:3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
Psa 150:4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute,
Psa 150:5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Psa 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.

from Psalm chapter 7 to 150 all throughout there tells us how to praise the Lord

  The book of Psalms is a beautiful chapter to read.  Here is one of my favorites for Praising the Lord!

Psalm 100 1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

 2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

 3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

 4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

 5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

The Lord Himself is the source of hope because His character is unchanging, His love is steadfast, His promises will all come true, and His omnipotence determines our future! How wonderfully beautiful is this promise!!
