Hi all,

Here in Texas it is so dry that many wildfires have started.  We're in Longview (North East part of Texas) and there is a wildfire about 45 miles from us also one just on the outskirts of the other side of Longview from where we are.  I know that in the Austin area fires there was at least 2 firefighters killed, and a mother and child was killed in one of the fires.

Please pray for our safety, Marty is a double amputee confined to a power chair, and I have no idea how or where we'd go if we had to evacuate.  I'm sure the authorities would help us, but I also know they have a lot of other things to worry about.

I know that the Eastern coast has been hit with an earthquake and a lot of flooding.

Please pray for the victims in those areas also.

And if you have any other personal information of natural disasters or know of people who are trying to cope, please add those prayers here also.  I can pray better if I know what I'm praying about  lol.

Father God.  There are so many of your children suffering today in this world.  I pray, Lord, that the floods will cease and the areas in drought will receive Your lifegiving rain.  Father, protect people in harms way and give them comfort and strength.  Look after us, Lord, as we look to You for our daily needs.  I thank You Lord, for all that You have done, are doing, and will continue to do for us.  Give to us the peace and comfort that can only come from YOU, dear Lord.  In Jesus most precious name  Amen

I had some friends move from Magnolia about a week and a half ago. Their area was evacuated yesterday.
It might be a good idea to contact police to a: find out where you might go, and b: help to make sure you get there. From living in a state that is perpetually a target for nature's fury, the more you're prepared for what might come makes everything go smoother when action is required.

I guess these fires have gotten people to thinking.  Marty's CBA nurse was here yesterday and said that they have started a list of people who need help in evacuations.  She had to get our permission first but she is going to put us on that list.   I guess it's for people who need help and have disabilities that would hinder evacuations.  So now in case of evacuations, the authorities will know about Marty's disabilities and will be better prepared to help us.  God sure moves in the right ways.

The Lord Himself is the source of hope because His character is unchanging, His love is steadfast, His promises will all come true, and His omnipotence determines our future! How wonderfully beautiful is this promise!!
